Helping Hands Program
Do you often feel inspired to help others and give back to your community? Are you looking for a unique way to gain volunteer experience? Bowers Farm offers many opportunities to volunteer! Volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation in order to participate!
Seasonal Events - various duties for Fall Fest (Oct) & Winter Park (Jan-Feb)
Fundraising - for seasonal events & large projects
Open Barns - various duties during public hours, weekends April - October
Animal Chores - feed and clean pens
Farm Kitchen - concessions
Farm Store - customer service & cashier
Summer Camp Stewards - assist camp leaders (14+; no accompanying parent/guardian required)
Production Gardens - plant, weed & harvest
Operations Support - grounds and buildings
Volunteer Process
Volunteers are valuable partners of Bowers Farm. They gain unique experiences and provide added value to our site and visitors.
Safety is a Priority
Bowers Farm is committed to ensuring the safety of those who visit and those who volunteer by providing a screening and selection process. This ensures those who work alongside us or directly with youth, and the people we serve, are safe and have positive experiences that enrich their lives.
Age requirements:
Minimum age for volunteers is 6 years old. Children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times while volunteering.
Steps to become a new volunteer
Apply to become a new volunteer including selecting an Orientation Date.
Attend a Volunteer Orientation
After orientation, adults will be required to submit a Background Check.
Current Volunteers
Bowers Farm requires annual screening through Background Checks to ensure the safety and security of those we serve.
Current volunteers must resubmit forms annually, between May 15 and June 30.

Volunteer Open House Dates
Sept 21, 2023 - 5:30 to 7:30 pm covers Fall Fest, Open Barn, Animal Chores, Farm Kitchen, Farm Store, Production Gardens and Operations (depending on volunteer interest)
Dec 21, 2023 - 5:30 to 7:30 pm covers Winter Park, Animal Chores, Farm Kitchen, Farm Store and Operations (depending on volunteer interest)
Mar 14, 2024 - 5:30 to 7:30 pm covers Events, Open Barn, Production Gardens, Kitchen & Store. This Open House is mandatory for Open Barn and Production Gardens
June 18, 2024 - 5:30 to 7:30 pm covers Open Barn, Animal Chores, Farm Kitchen, Farm Store, Summer Camp Stewards, Production Gardens and Operations (depending on volunteer interest)
Please fill out the application below, and you will be emailed a confirmation of your orientation date. The minimum age for volunteers is 6 years old. Children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times while volunteering.
New volunteers: click on the link below to complete required forms after you’ve attended an orientation.
