Bowers Farm Store & Visitor Center

Guidelines & updates

In this world of ever-changing guidelines, we ask that you check this page often for updates.

Welcome to Bowers Farm Store & Visitor Center! We are open for you and your family to enjoy MSU Dairy Ice Cream, purchase fresh produce from our production garden and get your eggs from our free-range chicks! We will also offer the opportunity, on designated days, for guests to spend time with the animals and enjoy a unique farm experience! Experiences will change often so visiting more than once will bring more fun and new learning opportunities. There are a few safety guidelines we need to make you aware of prior to your arrival. Our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our visitors! We all must chip in to make the farm a place where health and safety measures are maintained for our guests, staff and furry farm friends.

First, we want to take the time to thank you for considering Bowers Farm as a destination choice this season. And thanks to those that have supported us over the past few months whether it was by following our educational posts, purchasing produce and flowers or just calling to make sure the animals are okay.  Bowers Farm truly appreciates our local community and we are so happy we can finally welcome you back to visit.

FARM MEMBERSHIP & GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS

Bowers Farm will begin offering memberships to interested parties. For membership prices and benefits or if you would like to purchase a membership, click here. General admission tickets will be available to purchase when you arrive. Please note that tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable so we ask that you plan accordingly.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

All guests must drive into the Bowers Academy gate (red & white sign that says 1223 Bowers Academy) and park in designated areas. Parking is free.

If you signed up to become a member of Bowers School Farm, please plan to show your ID upon arrival.

Plan on wearing your own mask or purchasing one from the farm in order to protect the guests and staff. All visitors (2 and up) – unless otherwise prevented by a medical condition – are required to wear a face mask or shield while in close proximity to other guests and staff, while indoors and when ordering ice cream. Wearing a mask inside the barns, visitor center, restrooms or any other enclosed space is mandatory! While our capacity limits allow for physical distancing, guests are asked to be mindful and considerate of others. Wearing a mask can help protect others when you unintentionally get too close. Face masks will be available in the Learning Center.

  • There are open areas where visitors can take a break from wearing their masks.

  • You can remove the mask briefly if you are not in close proximity to other people.

  • You can take the mask off temporarily while eating.

  • If you have a child, talk to them about wearing a mask and how it can help prevent the spread of germs to other people.

When you arrive at the Learning Center, expect to go into a single-line with physical distancing markers. We ask that you maintain at least 6 feet between groups or individuals.

Once capacity allows, you’ll be directed into the Learning Center where you’ll purchase your ticket or show your membership card to a staff member for scanning. You’ll then exit through a separate set of doors and onto the farm property.

WHILE ON THE FARM

While at the farm, you are expected to observe the farm’s safety practices, which follow mandates and guidelines from the state, county, Centers for Disease Control and the school district as well as other experts. They are posted throughout the farm and include wearing masks, following posted routes of circulation, maintaining physical distancing and adhering to personal hygiene requirements.

Feel free to visit our Learning Center during your visit to the farm and enjoy some good ol’ fashion ice cream straight from the MSU Dairy Store! Bowers Farm fresh produce and eggs will be available for sale as well!

Staff members will be rotating through areas for disinfecting. Please be patient if you need to wait a minute or two prior to entering enclosed spaces while cleaning takes place (ie. restrooms, barns, etc).

Watch for signs and good hygiene posters reminding you of safety measures. Feel free to use available hand sanitizer if you haven’t brought your own.

UPON EXITING

Signs will direct you to exit in a manner that keeps you outside. If you’d like to enter the Learning Center again, please enter through the appropriate doors only.

Please dispose of your gloves, masks and other personal items in the proper waste receptacles.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST….

Enjoy your day at Bowers Farm! Stay healthy and safe so we can see you at additional events in the future!

These guidelines are subject to change as safety protocols are updated from state and local authorities. Please check back often for updates. We appreciate your patience as we aim to keep our facility safe and enjoyable for all visitors.
