Farm Camp Aug 3 - 7 Week
Day 1 at Farm Camp: New Friends, Big Smiles & Farm Adventures!
What a fantastic first day at Farm Camp! The farm was buzzing with excitement as campers arrived ready to make new friends, meet our amazing animals, and kick off an unforgettable week of adventure.
🐥 Barnyard Buddies
Our youngest campers jumped right into the fun! After getting acquainted with their counselors and fellow campers, they set off on a tour of the farm to discover all the exciting places they'd be exploring this week.
Of course, meeting the barnyard animals was a highlight! From furry friends to feathered favorites, campers loved saying hello, learning their names, and getting comfortable around their new farm pals. We wrapped up the day with a relaxing wagon ride through the farm, followed by a picnic surrounded by the sights and sounds of the countryside a perfect ending to an exciting first day!
🌻 Farm Camp
The energy was high from the moment campers arrived! We started the morning with lively camp songs that had everyone singing, clapping, and smiling before diving into our favorite icebreaker a bean bag toss name game that helped everyone learn new names while sharing lots of laughs.
Next, it was time to get to work like real farmers! Campers rolled up their sleeves for farm chores before heading out on a farm scavenger hunt, exploring every corner of camp while discovering hidden treasures and fun facts along the way.
Animal visits gave everyone the chance to get to know our farm friends a little better, learning about their care and what makes each one so special. After another scenic wagon ride around the property, campers headed to the Garden Kitchen, where Chef Dan introduced a fresh and colorful vegetable wrap recipe. Using garden-fresh ingredients, campers created tasty wraps before putting their creativity on paper by drawing self-portraits to celebrate the first day of camp.
🐴 Horse Camp
Our Horse Camp riders met their four-legged partners and began building the foundation for a safe and successful week in the barn.
Campers learned the basics of showmanship, an important horse skill that teaches handlers how to confidently lead, present, and communicate with their horse while developing trust, teamwork, and proper handling techniques. They also practiced grooming and tacking, learning how to safely prepare their horses for riding while understanding why each step is important for the horse's comfort and care.
Then came everyone's favorite part ride time! Campers climbed into the saddle, began getting to know their horses, and enjoyed their first rides of the week. It was wonderful to see new friendships forming between both campers and horses.
