Little Wranglers Pony Camp: Final Day Fun – Trust, Trails & Pony Magic 🐴🌳

Today we wrapped up an unforgettable week at Little Wranglers Pony Camp here at Bowers Farm—and what a grand finale it was!

We started the morning back in the saddle with a pony obstacle course, where campers put all their new riding skills to the test. From weaving through cones to navigating little turns and making the bucket challenge with their bean bags, each camper showed just how far they’ve come in just a few short days. Confidence, control, and huge smiles were on full display!

After riding, we gathered for a little arts & imagination with our Magical Carousel Horse craft—complete with sparkles, swirls, and creative flair. Every carousel horse was as unique as the camper who made it!

Next up was a true highlight of the day: a blindfolded team-building activity, where campers worked in pairs to guide each other through a ground obstacle course using only reins, voice commands, and trust. It was amazing to see how much communication, patience, and teamwork our young wranglers used—skills that go far beyond the barn.

In the afternoon, we cooled off on a peaceful nature hike through the shady woods, taking time to listen to birds, spot bugs, and enjoy the quiet beauty of the trails.

After lunch, it was time to gather for one last Bunny Circle, where we snuggled up with our fluffy friends and read one of my favorite horse stories—"Ponyella" by Laura Numeroff and Nate Evans, with charming illustrations by Lynn Munsinger. It was the perfect mix of fairy tale and farm fun!

We ended the day with a final pony walk around the farm, giving campers one last chance to lead their ponies and soak in the view. Then came a special visit with the tractor, always a camp favorite!

As we said our goodbyes, there were lots of hugs (some for the ponies, too!) and talk of coming back again soon. We’re so proud of each camper for the courage they showed, the friendships they formed, and the care they gave to every animal and activity along the way.

Thank you, families, for sharing your little wranglers with us—we can’t wait to see them again soon at Bowers Farm!

🐎 Until next time,
—Ms. Lou and The Little Wranglers Team

Little Wranglers Pony Camp: Day 2 – Building Confidence, Crafting Memories & Cowgirl Spirit 🐎🌈

Day two at Little Wranglers Pony Camp was packed with pony-powered adventure, hands-on creativity, and plenty of giggles!

This morning, we saddled up again and focused on building balance and confidence in the saddle. Campers practiced standing in their stirrups, reaching for the sky, and dismounting without a mounting block. Each ride helped our wranglers grow a little braver, a little stronger, and a lot more pony-proud!

At this age, balance and confidence are key to building a strong foundation in horsemanship—and beyond. Riding a pony isn't just about staying in the saddle; it's about learning to trust your body, your pony, and yourself. As campers gain control and feel more secure, they also grow in independence and self-esteem—skills that extend far past the barn and into everyday life.

Back at the craft tables, everyone made their own Horse Show Confidence Craft—a special keepsake with a photo of them and their pony to take home. These proud snapshots will remind our campers of just how far they’ve come in just two days!

Then it was time for tie-dye fun! Campers twisted, sprayed, and dyed their way to colorful creations. Everyone is excited to show off their new Little Wranglers camp shirts tomorrow—get ready for a swirl of color and smiles! CAMPERS WEAR YOUR SHIRTS TO CAMP TOMORROW!

Todays Bunny Circle read aloud

One of the big highlights of the day was the Stick Horse Relay Race, where the whole camp joined in on some friendly competition and a lot of laughter as teams galloped, jumped, and cheered each other on.

In the afternoon, we gathered once again for Bunny Circle, where we snuggled up with our fluffy friends and enjoyed the read-aloud of Every Cowgirl Needs a Horse by Rebecca Janni, beautifully illustrated by Lynne Avril. The story inspired lots of cowgirl dreams and even more love for ponies.

We also paid a visit to our feathery friends at the “Chick-Inn” for some up-close chicken time—clucks, cuddles, and curious questions included!

Before the day ended, campers got the reins in their hands during a pony walk, taking turns leading their ponies along the trails and through the farmyard. The sense of leadership and trust between camper and pony was truly special.

We finished off with another scenic tractor ride, then gathered as a group to share our favorite memories of the day—everything from bunny snuggles and chicken craziness to tie-dye and taking the lead on pony walks.

Tomorrow brings even more fun, and with everyone in their camp shirts, we’re sure to look like the most colorful herd around!

Little Wranglers Pony Camp: Day 1 Roundup – Meeting the Ponies

& Making New Friends! 🐴🌞

What a fantastic first day at Little Wranglers Pony Camp! Our young campers hit the ground trotting as they stepped into the world of ponies, paint, and plenty of new adventures.

We kicked off the morning by meeting our wonderful Bowers ponies—and what a warm welcome it was! Campers learned how to safely approach their pony pals, and everyone got hands-on with pony grooming—brushing manes, fluffing tails, and bonding with their new four-legged friends.

Next up, our wranglers-in-training took a tractor ride around the farm to get the lay of the land and soak in all the sights and sounds of pony camp. From there, we jumped into our first pony riding basics lesson with Ms. Taffy the pony, where campers learned how to:

  • Approach a pony with confidence

  • Mount and dismount safely

  • Steer and stop like true little cowboys and cowgirls!

When we weren’t in the saddle, the fun kept going! Campers showed their creative side by making pony headbands, complete with ears and wild manes. We had lots of giggles and silliness during a pony painting session (don’t worry—only animal-safe paints were used, and the ponies enjoyed the attention and gentle brushing followed by bath time!).

Our afternoon was full of even more animal fun with a sweet visit to the baby goats, followed by bunny circle time, where we read a heartwarming horse-themed story with fluffy bunnies cuddled in our laps. 🐰📖

We wrapped up the day with a camp-wide scavenger hunt, where teams searched high and low for clues and surprises.

The sun may have set, but the smiles stayed on. We’ve already made new friends (both human and hoofed!) and can’t wait to saddle up for more adventures tomorrow!

Stay tuned for more tales from the trail. 🐎💛
